VDMA Metallurgy is the joint platform of metallurgical machinery producers
It includes the specialist associations Foundry Machinery, Metallurgical Plants and Rolling Mills, and Thermo Process Technology.Metallurgy groups together the common topics and interests of the members of these three specialist associations who supply plant, machinery, equipment and process technology for metal production and processing.
Dr Ioannis Ioannidis, CEO of Frech Group and Chairman of VDMA Foundry Machinery Association previous and new CEMAFON President. Piero Starita, Member of the Board of Directors Laviosa Chimica Mineraria and Honorary President of AMAFOND continues as Vice President. Continuity in challenging times.
Climate-neutral production - this poses enormous challenges for the process industries. The VDMA web seminar series is aimed specifically at technology suppliers and industrial users and presents the framework conditions as well as examples of innovative solutions.
From 6 to 10 July 2020, seven German companies from the mechanical engineering sector for metal processing used the opportunity to establish new virtual business contacts with Belarusian business partners.
The Belarusian metal industry must modernize in order to remain internationally competitive. From 6 to 10 July 2020, German technology providers will have the opportunity to make new business contacts. Registration deadline: 31 January 2020
"InCeight Casting C8" is a new congress held in Darmstadt from March 1 to 3, 2021, offering for the first time the comprehensive exchange of experience and knowledge between all disciplines involved in the product life cycle of cast components.
The GIFA METEC THERMPROCESS NEWCAST trade fairs in Düsseldorf were accompanied by successful supporting programmes. Accompanying this year's THERMPROCESS exhibition, the THERMPROCESS Symposium took place from 26 to 28 June 2019.
In 2019, the trade fair appearance of the VDMA Metallurgy Association will again offer the trade visitors of the trade fair quartet GIFA / METEC / THERMPROCESS / NEWCAST exciting insights into the latest innovative solutions such as digital transformation in production, high-grade resource efficiency or the integration of additive manufacturing technologies.
The new Metallurgy specialist association is tackling future oriented topics such as the digitalization of value streams or the integration of new business models – major challenges for the metallurgical plant and equipment sector.

The die casting sector is a strong part of the foundry business in Europe. With Industry 4.0, the age of the intelligent machine to machine communication has begun. However, many customer scenarios are only possible through manufacturer independent interoperable information exchange. To meet the requirements of industry 4.0 with an intelligent communication in and to a die casting cell, the representatives of the European die casting industry are jointly developing a standardized open communication interface standard based on OPC UA (Open Platform Communications Unified Architecture).
